NEW EVENT: ¡MAYDAY! and Fam Support the Homeless

I am really proud to be a part of this event, as we collect clothing for adults and children plus school supplies for those in need around Miami. We are partnering up with the organization Community Partnership For Homeless to bring awareness to their daily fight against poverty in our city and to bring some great music to your ears. So if you haven’t been to a ¡MAYDAY! show yet, then this is the time do go, its FREE but we are requesting that you bring some old (or new!) clothing for the Homeless.

VOTING CONTEST: Last Rights #THENEWMIAMI

If you’re not on Last Rights Inc. yet then its time for a wake up call. These guys have been all over the Music, Art, and Fashion scene from their start up and are always finding creative ways to unite all three for a good time. They recently setup a ridiculous lineup at SXSW for a lucky Austin audience, so check out their past catalog and take a unique chance to vote on a their latest shirt design which represents an artistic movement they are still helping to mold.

800x800

Since Last Rights came on the scene, we have always stayed true to our roots and represented the great city of Miami to the fullest. We are extremely proud and excited to see THE NEW MIAMI movement that is taking place right now. Having a group of young, talented, and very hungry individuals at the forefront, there is no way that the arts of Miami will ever be overlooked…

That being said, it is only right that we get the people involved in deciding which of these shirts should be produced. After all Last Rights is here for YOU. With out your support we are nothing. We will be producing whichever design wins on both black and white T’s…

Take the time to vote and make a difference! And remember, this is just the beginning!

Truly yours,

The Last Rights Family

EP DOWNLOAD: ¡MAYDAY!- Technology EP

Wow, February 2010 already! Well, my year is flying by which is probably why I haven’t had a chance to update this little site, but have no fear ¡MAYDAY! is here with a great EP that I think everyone (my two loyal readers) will enjoy. If you haven’t heard of ¡MAYDAY! yet, well you will. These boys have been busy working on their newest LP scheduled to release early this year titled Stuck on an Island and have been busy shooting videos with Mr. Lil Wayne himself for his own newest album, Rebirth. Now don’t let the association confuse you, these boys are a bit far left from anything Weezy but its nice to see them get a co-sign from one of raps largest superstars at the moment. For a preview of whats to come please visit mayday.bandcamp.com for full stream and download options of their last EP, Technology, and click the play button below to hear a track off the same EP. HAPPY 2010 FOLKS!

EVENT: Covenant House Florida – The 16th Annual Cranberry Jam

For any who aren’t familiar, Covenant House Florida has been involved with providing shelter and services to children and youth who are homeless or at great risk since 1983 in South Florida. They strive to reunite kids with their families, collaborate with community associations to improve the conditions of families and youths, and advocate on behalf of the youth to raise awareness in the community about their suffering. On Wednesday, Nov. 25th (the day before Thanksgiving) they will be hosting the 16th Annual Cranberry Jam in Ft. Lauderdale with live music, give-aways, food samples, unlimited beer until 9pm and a local restaurant competition for the Taste of the Beach Award with celebrity judges. More importantly you can support an organization which provides a valuable service to our local homeless youth. So save some of that Black Friday cash for Youth Wednesday by kicking off Thanksgiving weekend with some refreshing beer and a good cause at Ft. Lauderdale Beach.
