Lightheaded: Tour Documentary Clip

I am excited about today’s post folks! Then again, I’m always excited to share good music with fellow fans but this time around I am happy to discover a little behind the scenes gem on one of my favorite groups in the Hip Hop world. Ohmega Watts, Othello and Braille are three extremely talented MCs who combine their skills to form Lightheaded. Each of these guys stand well on their own with vibrant solo albums -visit their individual myspace pages and see for yourself- but together they create an energy which I can only describe as brilliant. They combine lively rhythms with fresh lyrics and elevate Hip Hop to a level which leaves you dancing, head-nodding, and bouncing down the highway to work. If you want music which uplifts and tickles your ear drums, then check these guys out and hit the play button below for some tour fodder and a live set of their song “In the Building”.

VIDEO: Chali 2na feat. Beenie Man- International

I have to give it up for Chali 2na, this man grew up in South Central Los Angeles and still manages to make music which is fun, lyrical and entertaining. Many might recognize this deep voiced MC from super group Jurassic 5 or Ozomatli, but he released his long awaited solo album Fish Outta Water only recently in June 2009. Here is his latest video for “International” featuring Beenie Man filmed in Kingston, Jamaica and directed by Jason Goldwatch.

NEW ALBUM: Sojourn- Sojournalism: The Summer Articles

Maaaannn, this is a delicious album! After indie label Hip Hop Is Music went on hiatus for a while, I began to think I would never get a chance to hear this record. But Braille (Hip Hop Is Music Presidente) and Sojourn have finally delivered the goods and it was worth the wait. Below is the first official single “Get Back” off  Sojournalism: The Summer Articles. Sojourn is another talented MC coming out of the Hip Hop Is Music camp, which is a great place to find top quality Hip Hop, so if you are just stepping into the arena hit that link and discover it for yourself. You can also stream the whole album here if you need a larger taste of Sojourn’s latest effort.
