EVENT: Covenant House Florida – The 16th Annual Cranberry Jam

For any who aren’t familiar, Covenant House Florida has been involved with providing shelter and services to children and youth who are homeless or at great risk since 1983 in South Florida. They strive to reunite kids with their families, collaborate with community associations to improve the conditions of families and youths, and advocate on behalf of the youth to raise awareness in the community about their suffering. On Wednesday, Nov. 25th (the day before Thanksgiving) they will be hosting the 16th Annual Cranberry Jam in Ft. Lauderdale with live music, give-aways, food samples, unlimited beer until 9pm and a local restaurant competition for the Taste of the Beach Award with celebrity judges. More importantly you can support an organization which provides a valuable service to our local homeless youth. So save some of that Black Friday cash for Youth Wednesday by kicking off Thanksgiving weekend with some refreshing beer and a good cause at Ft. Lauderdale Beach.

VIDEO: The Roots – How I Got Over

If you love Hip Hop then you have to appreciate the Roots for always bringing something new to the table. I’ve been a Roots fan for a very long time and I have to say they have always surprised me. I know some Hip Hop heads wish they would go back to the Do You Want More?!!!??! days but artists have to grow and they mastered all that jazz a long time ago. So with all that said, enjoy the title track off their upcoming album, How I Got Over.
